It was a hot day on College Party Cruise in the Bahamas...

While waiting in line to order a (multiple) tequila shot(s), Maddi was approached by a strapping young man who, for the first and final time in his life, eloquently pulled the, "you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen" line. Much to both Maddi and Scott's surprise, it worked.

They spent the next several days together on the cruise, where their connection grew. Upon returning to school, they continued seeing each other for two short months before graduating and going their separate ways to Boston and New York. They spent the next four years traveling back and forth to see each other before they finally moved into their first home together in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Scott planned a surprise for Maddi in Charleston, South Carolina, where he proposed to her with both of their families present. However, word travels fast in Charleston—Maddi’s nail tech that morning, who was also her sister Katie's, casually spilled all the details of the surprise that morning. Despite knowing what was coming, Maddi played it cool (not really), acted surprised, and said yes!

Maddi and Scott spent a year in Tampa before relocating to Nashville for Maddi's dermatology residency. They quickly fell in love with the warm weather and sunshine, which inspired them to plan their wedding nearby.
